On September 23, the Vietnam Notary Association and the German Federal Chamber of Notaries (Bundesnotarkammer) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) and held a workshop with the theme “Sharing international experiences on notarization between the Vietnam Notary Association and the German Federal Chamber of Notaries“.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Chi Thien, Chairman of the Vietnam Notary Association, stated that the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Vietnam Notary Association and the German Federal Chamber of Notaries (Bundesnotarkammer) aims to closely coordinate the development and consolidation of the notary system, notarized documents and protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens and organizations of the two countries.

The scope of cooperation includes independent activities, activities approved within the framework of international cooperation programs, and dialogue between the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam and the Federal Ministry of Justice of Germany. Chairman of the Vietnam Notary Association Nguyen Chi Thien believes that the signing will strengthen the cooperative relationship between the Vietnam Notary Association and the German Federal Chamber of Notaries, contributing to further strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.

At the same time, the Workshop with the theme: “Sharing international experience on notarization of the Vietnam Notary Association with the German Federal Chamber of Notaries” was held to continue the close international cooperation relationship between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany and at the same time create opportunities to learn from the experience of the other country in the field of notarization of business establishment records, internal documents of enterprises as well as learning from the experience of the compensation fund, anti-money laundering in notarization activities.

At the workshop, delegates focused on clarifying related issues such as: Duties and powers of German notaries in the field of corporate law; Sharing experiences on compensation funds and preventing money laundering and terrorist financing in notary activities.
Mr. Richard Bock – Representative General of the German Federal Chamber of Notaries (Bundesnotarkammer) for International Affairs – shares his experience.
With highly practical content, the workshop will be an important basis for supplementing and commenting on many issues of interest to the draft Law on Notarization (amended), expected to be passed at the 8th Session (October 2024). At the same time, it will help the Vietnam Notary Association enhance its role and capacity in providing comments and advice to competent authorities to draft laws and guide and enforce laws related to the field of notarization. Flexibly apply notarization activities to become a shield to protect the safety of transactions, minimize the shortcomings and risks that have occurred and are occurring in society, and contribute to ensuring social order and safety.
